Privacy Policy
Draft, not legal adviceThis is a draft for legal review. It is draft, not legal advice and needs legal review (including children's privacy rules) before launch. Last updated: October 2026.
What we keep
We try to keep as little as possible:
- Account: your email, your age band (not your birthday), parental-consent time for 13 to 17s, and whether your email is verified.
- Your content: your projects, the coordinates you type, your chat messages, the builds we make, screenshots and schematics you upload.
- Sign in with Google or Discord: which service you used, the account id it gives us, the email it shares, whether that service says the email is verified, and when you linked it. We never see your login details for that service.
- Payments: which pack you bought, the amount, and when. Card details go to our payment provider, never to us. We keep a record of paid purchases without your name or email even after an account is deleted, because tax rules require it.
- Technical: one session cookie so you stay logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not ask for your name, phone number or address. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Screenshots: deleted after 30 days. We strip hidden image data (like location) when you upload. Press F1 to hide chat and usernames before you take them.
- Surroundings files: deleted after 90 days. We drop author information from them.
- Deleted accounts: uploads, builds and sessions are removed immediately, and the rest is purged within 7 days.
- Under 13: if you say you are under 13 at sign-up, nothing is stored.
Who else sees it
- AI model providers: your descriptions, coordinates, notes and any screenshots you attach are sent through OpenRouter to the model that designs your build: Anthropic (Claude) for Lite designs and quick tweaks, Google (Gemini) for Design, Premium and smart tweaks. If you pick Auto, the text of your request is also sent to Perplexity, through OpenRouter, to suggest a build type. Do not include personal information in them.
- Payment provider: Polar.sh handles checkout as merchant of record, which means it sells the pack to you and handles payment and tax. It receives your email and the purchase details. Draft for legal review
- People you send a share link to (adults only, only if you make one): anyone with the link can see that one version: its name and description, size, materials, a 3D preview, the build guide and the downloads, and your request only if you ticked "Also show my request" (lines that look like coordinates are removed from it). The page never shows your email or account, your world coordinates, screenshots, surroundings files or chat, and the downloads are copies without world coordinates. Links are unlisted (a long random address, not indexed by search engines) and you can turn one off at any time; we can also take a page down. Accounts for 13 to 17 year olds cannot make share links. Draft for legal review
- Sign-in services: if you choose Google or Discord, that service knows you signed in to Plotwright.
- Email provider: none for now. During the beta you sign in with Google or Discord, so we do not send you any email. If we open email sign-up later, a provider will send the verification emails and we will name it here first.
Optional: helping improve the builder
Draft for legal reviewThis is off unless you turn it on, and only adults can turn it on.
- What it is: if you are 18 or older, you can choose on the Account page to let Plotwright use your build sessions to make the builder better, for example to train or test the AI models that design builds.
- What it covers: what you type in the studio, the builds the builder makes for you (and the steps it took), and your "Good build" / "Not quite" ratings and downloads.
- Never for under-18s: accounts for people aged 13 to 17 cannot turn this on, and their sessions are never used this way.
- Turning it off: you can turn it off anytime. Your sessions are then left out of any future training. If you delete your account, it is turned off too.
- Your ratings: the "Good build" and "Not quite" buttons in the studio help us spot problems even if this is off; they are only used for training when it is on.
Needs legal review: legal basis for this use, how long session records are kept, whether data already used in a trained model can be removed, and whether the AI provider is involved.
Your choices
From the Account page you can download all your data as a JSON file, turn the optional training use on or off (adults only), and delete your account. For other requests use the contact address in the Terms.
Children
Plotwright is for people 13 and over. People aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian's agreement. Read our guide for parents.
